Farmington River Financial Group Proudly Sponsored the Petit Foundation 5K Road Race/Fitness Walk

As one of 22 sponsors, Farmington River Financial Group® was proud to support the Petit Family Foundation 5K Road Race/Fitness Walk on Sunday, August 6th, 2017.  With perfect weather and such enthusiastic teammates, we couldn’t have asked for a better day!
Thank you to all of our clients, friends, and family who joined our team on a beautiful morning. We hope you all enjoyed the race, free pancakes, ice cream, and massages. We look forward to sponsoring events like these in the future! The Petit Family Foundation had approximately 1,000 registered participants and was able to raise $100,000 to help fund tbe many cuases it supports. A special thank you to those who made additional donations to the Foundation.

Thank you to Dr. William Petit, who continues the memory of his family through such a wonderful Foundation. The Petit Family Foundation provides scholarships for girls in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). We especially hope his scholarships encourage more women to enter finance!

Our Involvement with Farmington, CT Community

Every September, Farmington River Financial Group hosts their annual shredding event. Mobile shredding trucks arrive at our office early in the morning and clients along with the local community are invited to come and securely destroy their confidential documents.

In late summer, employees help to collect nonperishable kid-friendly food items. The food drive ends during the shredding event with all items being donated to the Farmington Food Pantry. In 2016, 111 pounds of food items were donated to help to make an immediate difference in the Farmington Food Pantry's efforts to support those in need.

Our Involvement in Other Communities

Farmington River Financial Group's staff donate their personal time throughout the year to support many charitable organizations in their hometown communities. Some of the organizations that have benefitted from our employees and their families being actively involved are Boy Scout Troop 16, Mattebesst FFA, Middletown High School Band, Middletown High School Crew, Miss Porter's School, St. Pius X Parish and the Third Congregational Church of Middletown.

In addition to supporting our hometown communities, we are proud to support Commonwealth Financial Network® in their giving back initiative. During the 2016 National Conference in Austin Texas, Lori Johndrow, David Johndrow and Jacqueline Clark participated in a volunteer opportunity at the Dougherty Arts Center in downtown Austin. All spent their time painting and refreshing the center for the local artist.
